The best is yet to come!

I have thoroughly enjoyed each stage of my life, but I've got to say that these mid-life years are really, really nice. Thanks for stopping by to check on this Austin Nana. I like the real thing, though, so come on! Drop by for a coffee date with me sometime soon.

Busy, busy, busy.
That's what the last week has been like over at the McKinney House. Truly got to be the Austin Nana with the Austin Papa while Kristen and Jeff took a fun filled trip to Hawaii!!! We had our own kinda 'trip' going on here.
Kristen gave me one page of the activities I would, should and most certainly could expect for at least the 12 hours that little Gohean girls are awake. I meant to take a picture of that one page with tiny print, but I forgot to do so. We have loved every minute of the last week. I have not slept this well in months.
I will try to recap as best I can remember.

It WAS the week before Valentines Day, so of course we were quite busy with Valentine making. I felt sorry for Annie having to scrape the glitter off her toenails to put on her Valentines (as posted by her mother last week on her blog) , so I got Annie a very special set of glitter glue. Here she is, under my 'very close' supervision.

 More Valentine making activity...

Papa has an idea that maybe standing up at his work station will help with his back pain... so he ordered this special table from Crate and Barrel. He was able to pick it up and put it all together on Saturday morning.

Meg had fun with the box for at least 4 minutes.

One morning, Annie and I made cute little cinnamon rolls. This was really fun, and oh, so good to eat! This girl could make them on her own tomorrow. She has a memory and visual memory that blows me away. She told me EXACTLY how to get to her Preschool the first morning. She expressed a slight concern that Nana may not know the way.

We had a great week! When we couldn't find Meg, she was always in Papa's study playing with the cars and the race track. She slept anywhere from 11-12 hours every night (thanks for getting her weaned and ready for this, Kristen!) Annie was a huge help and acted as translator for Meg as needed. We know we didn't get the green veggies in and I know I forgot the vitamins...but we did hugs, kisses, books, Mary Poppins movie, all our favorite restaurants, bike rides, crafts, park time, hide and seek, macaroni and cheese, fruits and giggles we could stand. PLUS Tia and Max came over to make cute little people crafts with us.
