The best is yet to come!

I have thoroughly enjoyed each stage of my life, but I've got to say that these mid-life years are really, really nice. Thanks for stopping by to check on this Austin Nana. I like the real thing, though, so come on! Drop by for a coffee date with me sometime soon.

Getting past 'Good Enough'

I'd be the first one to admit I'm one of those 'it's good enough' type personalities. OH, don't worry about it...that looks good enough. That tastes good enough. That sounds good enough.
I don't like details. I don't like reading directions. I don't care for microscopic inspection. William says I'm more a 'generalist' than a 'specialist'. Hmmm. So, so true. Generally speaking. I'm tired of good enough, tho. It really only takes pressure off of me. Kinda like: "OK, I'm a slacker, so what? Just chill."

I found out that not only does the  word 'excellence' have to do with quality. It carries the meaning of 'courage' also.

Help me be courageous enough to look more deeply, examine more closely my words, my dreams, my hopes, my 'skills', even my cooking...to see if it reflects your worthiness, Jesus.

You do all things well.

employ every effort in [b]exercising your faith to develop virtue (excellence, resolution, Christian energy) 2 Peter 1:5 Amplified Bible

  1. i see what you are saying, but one of the things i've always loved and admired about you is that you don't sweat the small stuff, something i struggle with daily. you'd rather pour your time and energy into people than a perfectly prepared meal. sometimes when i start worrying that i make mac and cheese too often for dinner or that i don't clean my tubs enough, i can you hear you saying, "is that really the most important thing right now?"
