the next generation

When my kids were small, all their first cousins lived outside of Austin.

Some in the Dallas area, some in Houston.

It was fun to have a group of them come to Austin for a few days 

and it was also fun to send them to Dallas for a few days!

Either way, they got to know their cousins as kids.

So, imagine my delight when the next generation of cousins

had some play time together in Austin this weekend.

 Sunday lunch found us all at Taco Deli, one of the 

best brunch spots in Austin.

We even had an extra 'family' member surprise us from Dallas,

Logan (in the white cap).

Field trip to see Tamera's classroom... her first, all her own, high school biology classroom!

Today I headed over to see Tamera. Kristen, Annie and Meg met us there in the parking lot at the high school she will be teaching in this year. HER first year.

We are pretty pumped about this!

Prof Pam

This last weekend we headed up to Irving to see William's sister receive her Master's in Liberal Arts from Dallas Baptist University. I went here many moons ago to get my degree in Nursing. It has been that long ago since I set foot in this gym and it seems like there were just about this number of chairs set up when I graduated, too! It was really a great ceremony. The commencement address by one of the faculty was so good and personal and 'just right'. Pam has been a teacher at a Christian private school for many years, but a couple of years ago resigned to pursue her dream of teaching at a University. She will be teaching 3 classes starting Aug. 20 at DBU. We are all so proud of her.
