The best is yet to come!

I have thoroughly enjoyed each stage of my life, but I've got to say that these mid-life years are really, really nice. Thanks for stopping by to check on this Austin Nana. I like the real thing, though, so come on! Drop by for a coffee date with me sometime soon.

An amazing, rainy day

Can't remember the last time I had so much fun.

Really, really, really

so much fun!
yes, that is Pinterest...but I'm learning so much, please don't think I'm not doing anything at all! I now know about 5 healthy -ish  recipes, 10 more party decorations, 1 more way to make easy roman shades, and where one of my daughters will be swimming in a few weeks.

Living the dream

I don't know how this happened. Just 5 months ago, William and I were in San Diego, CA. He was there for a conference. I was in between 2 closings and just ready to get away for a bit. One evening after dinner we were walking along the bay looking at the boats and I said, "wow, do you ever just want to hop on a boat and sail away?"
William's response floored me, "Yeah, why not?"
For the next 2 weeks we read every book we could find on 'sailing for dummies'. Finally, I looked across at him one night and said..."ok, uncle" "Can't do this sailing thing, but how about an RV?"
Then for the next 2 months we read all we could about full time RV-ing. Talked about selling the house, all the stuff, working from the road, traveling out to only the Lord really knows where. REALLY, we were really thinking about it, SERIOUSLY.
Well, after an experiment with a rental RV, we went for the smaller dream, but one that fits us much better.
I'll post more photos of our monthly 'escapes' but this slow wifi is giving me problems tonight. I DO love having a new camera I bought from Jeff and Kristen. It was a beautiful day in Lost Maples State Park.

Getting past 'Good Enough'

I'd be the first one to admit I'm one of those 'it's good enough' type personalities. OH, don't worry about it...that looks good enough. That tastes good enough. That sounds good enough.
I don't like details. I don't like reading directions. I don't care for microscopic inspection. William says I'm more a 'generalist' than a 'specialist'. Hmmm. So, so true. Generally speaking. I'm tired of good enough, tho. It really only takes pressure off of me. Kinda like: "OK, I'm a slacker, so what? Just chill."

I found out that not only does the  word 'excellence' have to do with quality. It carries the meaning of 'courage' also.

Help me be courageous enough to look more deeply, examine more closely my words, my dreams, my hopes, my 'skills', even my cooking...to see if it reflects your worthiness, Jesus.

You do all things well.
