The best is yet to come!

I have thoroughly enjoyed each stage of my life, but I've got to say that these mid-life years are really, really nice. Thanks for stopping by to check on this Austin Nana. I like the real thing, though, so come on! Drop by for a coffee date with me sometime soon.

simple, isn't it?

My oldest daughter has been inspiring me to 'minimize'. HOWEVER, after seeing all that she packed for her beach trip...hmmm. Well, ok, she really does have a head start on me if you take a look at her home and her closet. It's all about keeping the main thing, the main thing.

So, I'm going to try to implement ONE simple thing a week into our lives that will, umm,"simplify"our home and our goals and our jobs and our dreams. You get it. William helped me this week. I was mentioning (actually complaining) to him that I absolutely just cannot think of what to cook anymore. So, to make it easy for me, he created this list I can grab and take to HEB. It includes as many meals as he could think of in about 3 minutes that are his favorites... some of them are actually my favorites, too.

No more stopping and staring at the bananas and squash. I've been a whiz thru the produce section forever...but then when I leave those bananas, I know I'm going to have to 'think' about it. WHAT to eat tonight? I just pulled this list out. Picked out 3 meals. Grabbed what I needed. Out of HEB in 30 minutes. Spent less money. Had a PLAN!
He thought he'd gone to heaven when he smelled meatloaf cooking. Then the brownies sent him over the top.

  1. Great idea, I wish I had done that when the kids were all home. I would always beg them for meal ideas! I never minded cooking, it was the decisions that drove me crazy. Ha ha about the minimalist and the beach. I told her their house must be empty! Bet it was too.

  2. hey, i did pretty good packing for a family of four for a week!!
also, my least favorite thing about cooking is coming up with what to make... we end up having the same meals every week.
